Ben Cates has been recreation director since the Rutherford County Conservation Board began sponsoring a county-wide recreation program in 1974. He has served as its one and only Recreation Director for the last 38 years.

Mr. Cates believes the program should support the recreational needs throughout the county and to carry recreation into the communities it serves.

 

 


  
 
 
Message from Director Cates

The Rutherford County Conservation Board has sponsored a county-wide recreation program for the past 38 years. We feel it has served many needs throughout the county and has carried recreation to the communities we are serving.

With the cooperation of the Director of Rutherford County schools, the many principals of the the schools we are serving and community clubs that are working with us, the county program started in October and goes to the end of April. There will be15 recreation sites throughout the county. This web site lists all the winter recreation locations. Check your local recreation site for days and times in your community.
